Over 1,400 Operating Room managers and directors from across North America will attend the event. Operating Room managers never have one day that is alike. The work is very fast paced- OR managers may spend time, ordering supplies for the OR, visiting with post surgery patients, or checking equipment.
OR Managers also field a lot of calls in a day. Most of those calls involve adding a patient to a surgery list. For this to happen, supplies must be ordered, surgeons must be scheduled (and prepared), and an OR theatre must be booked.
The conference, in it's 29th year, is built on the content in the OR Manager, my interview with OR Manager as the Closing Funny Motivational Speaker can be found here.
The opening motivational keynote speaker for the OR Managers is Marcus Engel, CSP with his motivational speech, The Other End of the Stethoscope – Prevailing Over Compassion Fatigue.
Healthcare professionals always love to end a conference with laughter and humor. I am so thrilled to leave the group with the funny motivational message, I Love my Job, it's the People I Can't Stand.
