On April 15, 2015, I am a humorous healthcare motivational speaker for the Ontario Association of Non- Profit Homes and Services for Seniors in Toronto Ontario (OANHSS).
The event will draw over 450 directors of care, finance, and long term care administrators. The theme of the event, Great Places to Live and Work, speaks to the industries drive to sustain positive, healthy and inspiring communities for staff and residents. All providers deliver care on a not for profit basis.
The work itself can be daunting, dealing with seniors ( and their families) in a very memorable, fragile and challenging time in their lives. It can also be physically exhausting.
In the non profit long term care sector, there is an overabundance of regulations. Staff can easily feel like they are being micro managed. Reporting obligations can often take away from time needed for residents is This is an enthusiastic audience, Caring for seniors is very rewarding work and people see the value in what they do.
Today, there is a growing expectation for personal care. Everything from palates to vegan and gluten free options are often expected. Many family members want it all for their loved ones in your care. Long term care homes are a 24 hour operation, thus these leaders must staff their homes for around the clock care.
I am looking forward to serving as a Closing Humorous Motivational Healthcare Speaker with the speech, This Would be Funny if it Wasn't Happening to Me!
