On May 9, 2014 I am a motivational speaker for the New Heights School Calgary Mother's Day Event.
The event is put on by the parent advisory council for mothers and teachers of children with Autism.
New Heights School caters to children with learning difficulties and developmental challenges including Autism.
Autism is challenging because there is such a broad range of behaviors associated with it and every child is different. As such, there is no real guide to follow and no outline, you can only respond to the situation.
This event is critical because it is an opportunity to reconnect and support other mothers who have children with Autism. The best resource is to talk to someone who is going through it too.
A mother is likely a childs biggest advocate going through this journey. Parenting can be frustrating and challenging and moms need to be reminded to take care of themselves too.
I am excited to be a motivational speaker for the New Heights Calgary Mothers Day Event. My Motivational speech, The Nerve to Serve... Say Hello to Humor & Goodbye to Burnout! will remind participants to take themselves lightly and take care of themselves.
