On March 2, 2017, I am a motivational speaker for the Michigan Risk Management Authority Workshop.
The event held at the Crowne Plaza in Lansing, Michigan will bring in over 100 risk management practitioners from across Michigan.
The Michigan Risk Management Authority is a public entity self-insurance pool that provides liability and property coverage to municipal governmental entities across Michigan.
Risk managers identify, prevent and help mitigate losses. Public risk management has evolved over the years as varied factors can put communities at risk. Thus, risk managers must stay on top of challenges,
risks and opportunities.
Other guest speakers for the risk management workshop include an opening session from Tim Sowton, from Business Leaders of Michigan, talking about Michigan's Economic Future.
There will feature breakout sessions on engaging employees and HR in Risk Management, public perception of risk management, Financial Stress on Communities, De-
Carceration and leadership.
The two other general sessions including Ethics in the Public Sector and a Legal Update.
I will serve as the evening funny motivational speaker with the speech, This Would be Funny if it Wasn't Happening to Me! Navigate the Future with Humor,
Enthusiasm and Vigor.
I will be the after-dinner guest speaker to wrap up the workshop with some humor. Risk management can be a very heavy topic. I plan to remind the audience strategies to flourish in change and the power that humor has to decrease stress and balance your perspective.
