On November 2, 2017, I am a motivational speaker for the Government Finance Officers Association of Texas (GFOAT) Conference.
The event, held at the Westin Riverwalk Hotel in San Antonio will attract over 450 government finance Professionals from across Texas.
Organized in 1933, The GFOAT mission is to enhance the quality of local government finance, to assist and support local government finance professionals in Texas, and to promote the public service profession.
Government financial managers work with city managers, city council, and city departments to plan, direct, monitor, organize and control financial resources in an efficient and effective manner.
These public servants must communicate tactfully with different parties to balance often limited resources.
The conference will open with the City of San Antonio City Manager, Sheryl Sculley, Followed by a Legislative Update by Bennett Sandlin, from the Texas Municipal League.
Engaging guest speakers include topics on working with city managers and city council. There are sessions on What today's fraud looks like, Tax evasion disclosure, investing best practices and more.
I am excited to be the opening funny motivational speaker, I will present the leadership talk, This Would be Funny if it Wasn't Happening to Me, Navigate the Future with Enthusiasm and Vigor. I will also present a workshop titled, I Love My Job, it's the People I Can't Stand!
