On October 2, 2015, I am a humorous motivational speaker for the BC Healthcare Finance Professionals Society Conference. Over 200 healthcare financial professionals will attend the event held at the Radisson Vancouver Airport Hotel.
The theme of the event, Commitment to Excellence, speaks to the industry need to evolve with change in healthcare and always strive for the best given cutbacks and lack of resources,
Most healthcare professionals feel the pressure of doing more with less as resources are put to the test. These cutbacks often are rolled out through the healthcare finance department.
Most people in the audience are CPA's and CMA's and spend the day crunching numbers trying to make budgets meet expectations. Audience members work for the various health regions ( fraser health, interior health, etc) the provincial health services authority and some long term care agencies.
In an attempt to save resources, consolidation of services( sharing services or department functions under one roof) is common in healthcare. Naturally, a consolidation means pressure on finance to make these changes viable.
The other motivational speakers for the healthcare finance professionals is Yvonne Camus, with her motivational speech, Leading a High Performance Life. Followed by Kit Grant with his hilarious motivational talk, The Successful Leader- the Manager as a Coach.
I am excited to be the Closing humourous motivational speaker with the topic, This Would be Funny if it Wasn't Happening to Me!
