On July 18, 2015, I am a motivational speaker for the Altrusa International Conference in Kansas City, Missouri. This years convention, themed, Jazz it Up will attract over 350 international volunteers and club leaders.
Altrusa started as a women's service club in 1917 to serve and develop the thousands of women who were going to work during World War 1. Over the years it has evolved to be a global organization that promotes literacy, education and environment stewartship.
Altrusa is a builder of women. As such, much of the membership are women over the age of 60. One of the mandates of the service organization is to promote leadership within younger generations to promote and sustain the organization.
Altrusa embodies the philosophy of unselfishness and giving to others. It follows democratic priniciples found on merit alone, concerned with accomplishment and not recognition.
Globally, Altrusa clubs reach out and serve their community through thousands of club initiatives and projects.
I look forward to serving as a motivational speaker for the Altrusa conference in Kansas City, MO. I will present the motivational speech, The Nerve to Serve... Say Hello to Humor and Goodbye to Burnout! and the keynote speech Follow Me I'm Right Behind You.
I will be donating my book, All Work & No SAY to each of the audience members.
