On November 17, 2015, I am a humorous motivational speaker for a conference for Human Resources professionals in the Trucking Industry presented by the THRSC Atlantic. The event is held at the Rath Eastlink Community Center in Truro, NS.
The Advancing Women in the Trucking Industry initiative is designed to both attract and retain more women in the trucking industry. Most people enter the trucking industry because it offers a lot of opportunity to grow. Many people may start driving a truck and advance to dispatch, HR, safety, compliance, warehousing and more.
The industry is attractive for women as it offer good pay, advancement opportunity, travel and more. Over 70 professionals in HR, operations, service and more will attend.
The closing motivational speaker is Ellen Voie, who is the president and CEO of Women in Trucking in the United States. Ellen will share with us
I will be presenting the opening motivational speech, This Would be Funny if it Wasn't Happening to Me! How to Embrace Change with Humor, Enthusiasm and Vigor. For any women entering a male dominated profession, some will resist the change. We will look at why and how we resist change and what to do about it.
