On November 8, 2014, I was a humorous motivational speaker for the Saskatchewan Association of Veternary Technologists. Over 300 Veterinary Technologists attended this event. The theme, Honoring the Past, Treasuring the Present, Shaping the Future was designed to reinvigorate Veterinary Technologists in their association and career path.
This 30th Anniversary Event was a true celebration of the contribution veterinary technologists make and how the association has grown over the years with the help of its members.
The other guest speakers for the Veternary Technologists were Margie Scherk giving a speech on Healthy Cat protocals. Also guest speaker Matt Read on Perioperative Hypothermia and Emma Read on Colic and Gut pain. These were the seminars that I attended, amoung other topics were Surgical Steralization, Vaccinne Development, blood pressure and more.
Alot of great sponsors supported the event. The prizes were plentiful, for instance, Lyanne Dyck won a Door Prize of $2500.
The objectives of the Saskatchewan Association of Veterinary Technologists is to promote humane medical care for all creatures. The further mandate is to maintain a professional image for the association and advocate for members.
I enjoyed being the opening and closing humorous motivational speaker for the veterinary technologists. I presented the motivational speeches The Nerve to Serve and This Would be Funny if it Wasn't Happening to me!
