On October 18, 2012 I am a motivational keynote speaker for the Activity Professionals of Ontario. Celebrating their 28th Annual Conference in London Ontario, this is a group of leisure recreation providers in healthcare settings.
The other motivational keynote speaker is Susan Lanza, delivering a motivational speech about Best Practice in Dementia Care. The other motivational speeches include topics like marketing your facility, recreation in palliative care, resident engagement and more.
Activity professionals work within a multi-disciplinary team to promote activity and wellness. They develop and facilitate different types of recreation programs to suite residents needs. They may also supervise and support care planning with family care givers in health facilities.
Like all healthcare professionals, they deal with government cut backs, a lot of change
The theme of this great event is Transforming Our Profession, I spoke with Jennifer the president of the association and she chose this theme to highlight that despite the change going on in the industry, activity professionals are still connected to the overall mission of creating and maintaining exceptional recreation programs for their residents.
I am the opening and closing motivational keynote speaker for the APO Conference. My motivational speeches will be, I Love My Job, it's the People I Can't Stand and Follow Me, I'm Right Behind You!
