I was an inspirational speaker recently for the LA Metro Medical Center Retreat in Malibu, California. The other guest speaker for the Medical Center was Antonio Le Mons who presented on the best selling book, The Passion Test.
Mr Le Mons is a true believer, a therapist who gave up his therapy practice to be licenced passion test facilitator. In his motivational speech, Le Mons suggested that 80% of the population does not live their passion.
The charismatic guest speaker charged the audience to consider what they would be doing if they lived their life on purpose. He had a courageous volunteer step out of the room with his concierge Brit to create his own personal passion list.
A few minutes later the volunteer returned to the room and we went through the list. Once someone has an idea of what they are passionate about (buy the book to help discover what it is for you) you narrow this list down to just a few items- by asking, i.e. If you could only have one or the other (such as wealth or the dream job) which would you choose?
This inspirational guest speaker suggested that when we live our lives black and white we miss a lot of the opportunity in our lives - that we may not notice it is available. He told a story about driving with a friend who suggested that many organizations recruit less than ideal employees. They recognized another friend at a bus stop and asked him what he was doing these days for work, hearing his response, they suggested they could help him find a better job with better pay; and they did. They found their passion and started a successful recruiting organization.
The inspirational guest speaker compelled the audience at the end of his motivational speech with this question, 'Is the life I'm living the life of my dreams?' If your answer is anything other than a resounding YES!!! It's time to dig into your soul, uncover your passion and begin to live a life on FIRE!
The other inspirational speaker for the medical center was their own CEO, Jo Avelino, who did a fabulous motivational speech on some of the motivational books he has read and enjoyed in the past. I will be blogging about Jo; he not only lives his principles but he has written a motivation book about them.
It was an incredibly inspiring event that I was proud to be included in.
My motivational speech was The Nerve to Serve... Say Hello to Humor & Goodbye to Burnout! This group LOVED to laugh.
