On May 26, 2012, I am an inspirational speaker for the Manitoba Child Care Conference at the Victoria Inn, in Winnipeg Manitoba.
I will present two motivational talks, The Nerve to Serve...Say Hello to Humor & Goodbye to Burnout! The second motivational talk is I Love My Job - It's the People I Can't Stand.
There is the potential for a lot of conflict in the child care industry. Generally, when you have a predominantly female workforce conflict can fester. Many women have an indirect communication style; instead of asking for what they want they may use power plays, manipulation or gossip to get their way. When someone feels powerless they often disguise their hostility and it comes out in other indirect ways.
The motivational talk will give participants tools that encourage them to choose professionalism over gossip and negativity, to assertively ask for what they want and to act in the best interest of children and families. The other inspirational speakers for the child care conference will address current regulations and decreasing stress and burnout.
