I was a speaker for a dieticians' conference where several health and wellness speakers on a panel shared tips on how to stay healthy.
I find that exuding positive energy is not easy when you are exhausted. Taking care of yourself involves eating right, exercising, getting enough sleep, drinking enough water, and finding time for yourself. Investing in your health and wellness will promote a robust attitude and give you the energy to keep up in this time-starved, high speed world.
As the speakers for the dieticians suggested, very few people actually do their daily due diligence when it comes to healthy habits. Beginning is one thing, while consistantly following through is quite another.
Here are the health and wellness speakers tips on how to work healthy habits into your day:
Schedule your healthy habits into your day and don't negotiate. Make exercise a part of your routine and don't back down; drag your butt into the gym at the same time(s) every week. You will probably be surprised at how much more energy you have when you do!
Plan and precook healthy meals. If healthy foods are available and ready to consume, it is more likely you will stay on track.
Have fruits and vegetables on hand. Shop the outskirts of the supermarket to get fresh produce, the key ingredient of healthy eating.
Have a large glass of water beside your desk while you work. The extra lubrication will give you energy and help you stay focused. Drink water instead of more coffee.
As a speaker for the dieticians I suggested how a balanced perspective and humor and play are critical to health and wellness with the motivational talk, Say Hello to Humor & Goodbye to Burnout!
