humorous motivational speakerTedTAlk humorous motivational speaker Shawn Achor spews out quotes like the following in his motivational talk:Only 25% of job success is predicted by IQ. 75% of job success is predicted by your optimism level, your social support and your ability to see stress as a challenge instead of a threat.

90% of your long term happiness is predicted not by the external world but by how the brain processes the world.

Dr Achor is a psychologist and author of the best selling book, The Happiness Advantage. The book talks about 7 principles of positive psychology that fuel success.

Dr Achor's motivational talk in a tounge and cheek fashion explains that society focuses on the negative at the expense of the positive.

For instance, when I look at all the symptoms of major disease, I realize I have all of them. With the guidance of my doctor, I have learned not to look up the symptoms of major disease on the internet.

Some quick lessons in positive psychology have taught me that the absence of disease is not health. Instead health comes from being healthy, thinking positively and taking care of yourself.

As the motivational talk progresses it suggests that if people are motivated to be healthy to avoid disease and death, that motivation will quickly fail. They need to be motived by something positive, like a state of health.

Dr Achor suggest that the way our brain processes the world is more important than the way the world actually is.

Dopamine which is released when you are positive and happy turns on all the learning centers in your brain.

I was so impressed by the humorous motivational speakers motivational talk, I bought his book.
