On February 24, 2017, I was a motivational speaker for the YMCA LINC ( Language Instruction to Newcomers in Canada) staff development day.
The event, held at the Genesis Centre, Calgary, brought together language instructors, administrators, supervisors, and employees.
The LINC program offers new immigrants speaking, writing and communication classes to help them improve their English.
This incredibly dedicated and passionate group of instructors work diligently to help newcomers to Canada gain confidence and integrate into a healthy life in Canada.
The audience was comprised of a very down to earth, hard working group that loves to laugh. They shared an extraordinary compassion for newcomers to Canada and an unparalleled pride in their profession. I was proud to know that this compassionate group helps newcomers to calgary feel connected and get the support they need.
The LINK program offers a variety of full time and part time classes during the day and evenings. Find out more about the program at:
Instruction is offered at the Saddletowne, Shawnessy and South Health Campus Locations.
