On September 23, 2014, I am a motivational speaker for the APUC ( Algonquin Power and Utilities Corp) Safety Symposium.
APUC is the parent company for Liberty Utilities who distributes utilities like energy and water to residents throughout the United States. The Algonquin side distributes wind, solar, hydro and thermal energy, mostly in canada.
The organization is going through a lot of growth including special projects and acquisitions. One major change this month is the three building organization is moving to a new building in Oakville, Ontario.
The move to Davis Road in Oakville will bring all employees together in one location. The big advantage is there will be a lot more meeting space ( an entire floor!). The new building is also LEED Certified. Leed certification means that the building must meet certain environmental principals like distance to public transport, HVAC system, solar window requirements and more.
The audience for the safety symposium will be senior management, HR, Finance,Accounting and more. LABS, the Liberty Algonquin Business Services was created to share services between APCO and Liberty. Shared services include things like HR and finance.
The event is an Annual Safety Symposium covering safety topics like distracted driving, instant investigations and fire safety.
I am the closing motivational speaker for the Safety Symposium delivering the motivational speech This Would be Funny if it Wasn't Happening to Me! Embrace Change with Enthusiasm and Vigor.
