On April 26, 2015, I am a humorous healthcare motivational speaker for the Georgia Medical Group Managers Association (GA MGMA). Over 125 physician practice managers will attend the event at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC.
The theme of the event is, Roaring into the Future of Healthcare Management. This year the Georgia MGMA celebrates it's 50th Year. Anyone in healthcare administration has been through a lot of change. Everything from Obamacare to compliance, to Electronic Medical Records to healthcare reform.
Doing more work ( and seeing more patients) with less resources in a physician office is very common. Today, getting reimbursements is always a challenge. Reimbursements in specialty areas like pediatrics, family or internal medicine, have been cut back. It's always a challenge to figure where and how to get paid.
Like any practice, staffing issues run rampade. Often a practice manager spends a good portion of her day putting out fires and assuaging conflict between staff. Temper can be fly in a workplace when people are put to the test. Keeping everybody happy on a multidisciplinary team( Drs, nurses, assistants, administrators) is challenging.
Add to all this stress is keeping up with changing criteria in a physician practice.
I am thrilled to be the sunday night opening humorous healthcare motivational speaker with the funny motivational speech, The Nerve to Serve... Say Hello to Humor and Goodbye to Burnout! I will also present the next day on the the speech topic, Daring to be Caring... Leading a Spirited Healthcare Team.
The other healthcare guest speakers are Mary Kelly, Adrienne Baker, Debra Wiggs and many more!
