Einstein once said Logic will take you from A to B, imagination will take you everywhere.
Last week I was a motivational speaker for a transportation conference.
One of the guest speakers told a story about employing a GPS to help him navigate to the event. When he checked into the hotel the clerk asked him if he enjoyed the lovely scenery. He had passed several historic landmarks along the way. However, the guest speaker, In his mad drive to save 10 minutes on the trip, had completely missed the beauty of his surroundings.
Is it possible that technology robs people of the beauty and experience of life around us?
If you think adventure is dangerous, try routine- its deadly. Mind numbing routine may be sucking the vitality out of life.
The other guest speakers talked about how continually distracted people are and that technology has gone too far too fast. School bus drivers cannot afford to be distracted while driving, which is why texting or email is forbidden when driving. However, they still can be on a hands free phone while driving the school bus.
The transportation conference was geared towards safety and the key theme throughout the event was the heavy use of technology and how it impacts driving safety!
