Yesterday I went to see a naturopatic doctor for the first time. The reason for the visit is I have noticed over the last year that I get increasingly agitated and anxious over things that used to never bother me.
I find myself yelling at slow drivers( in my contained vehicle where they can't hear me), constantly rushing my three year old( nothing is fast in a 3 year olds world) and becoming agitated by menial things like long commercial breaks. These are all small things that have never irritated me before but increasingly knaw on my nerves.
I have always believed that I don't have much stress and I handle whatever stress comes by way with ease. However these days I don't and sometimes I truly feel strung out. As a motivational speaker I am averaging 8 to 10 speaking engagements a month and it does take it's toll.
As a motivational keynote speaker, I travel a lot which can create stress... long days, times zones changes, being away from my family, etc. I find it very difficult to eat properly in airports; healthy food options are just starting to take hold but you have to look pretty far to find them.
So there it is , I am a motivational speaker who inspires people to take care of themselves, decrease stress and stay motivated and I am strung out and stressed!
My first visit to the naturopathic Doctor has forced some major lifestyle changes on me including no alcohol,no caffeine and a drastically altered and boring diet involving many vegetables.
I am also on a herbal relaxational vitamin and I feel better than I have in awhile. I will blog to share how this naturalpathic journey unfolds!
I decided to visit a naturopathic doctor when I heard another motivational speaker for a school administrators conference talk about his journey to wellness.
