On May 8, 2013, I am a motivational Speaker for Entegrus Energy Company all staff retreat.
The event will host over 100 Entegrus employees ranging from customer service, billing, feild staff ( customer services feild reps- connect/disconnect hydro and line men who maintain power lines). Together this team serves over 40,000 customers.
The company operates on the principle of Integrity in everything they do. Interviewing over 5 staff members from entegrus, I can see this is definately true. The organization has a real familiarity; like a very close knit family.
The whole energy company has been through the motivational FISH philosophy speech, (fun at work) training. When tempers get heated with customers you will often see a stuffed fish fly through the air. Maintaining a bit of levity ensures morale stays high and tempers low, especially during heated conversations.
Entegrus also has Star Awards where employees fill out ballots when they witness other staff go beyond the call of duty. Everybody who gets a ballot receives a certificate and once a month all ballots are entered to win a gift certificate.
The job can be challenging as some employees are tasked with dealing with dilinquent accounts and angry customers.
They truly hold the power, if a customer doesn't pay their bills they are forced to shut the power off.
