On October 21, 2012 I am an inspirational speaker for the Union of Taxation Employees Health and Safety conference in Ottawa, Ontario.
This group of approximately 170 Canada Revenue Agency Employees all sit on health and safety committees and are advocates for a safe workplace for all CRA employees.
This is an elected position. Once selected by the union, members will complete a joint training program, meet 9 times per year, review accident reports and do quarterly workplace inspections. These committee members will oversee everything to do with correcting a workplace safety deviance.
There is one health and safety committee per workplace and usually 6 people per committee. This added responsibility on the job is usually welcome by union of taxation employees who are activists for the health and safety right of CRA employees.
UTE members are advocates for safety issues usually because they see the importance of safety. Some have seen accidents occur in the past because of negligent work environments and thus want to make a difference.
I am the closing inspirational speaker for the Union of Taxation Employees. Apparently he whole audience will still be present for my closing motivational speech because if they leave they will get challenged on their expense claims!
I look forward to being the inspirational speaker for the Union of Taxation employees, my motivational speech is The Nerve to Serve... Say Hello to Humor & Goodbye to Burnout!
