On September 4, 2012, I am a motivational speaker for the Winnipeg Technical College All Staff Conference.
The event, which is being held on one of the college's four campuses, will bring together all staff including instructors, administrative support staff, janitorial, food services and more.
The reason for the interest in inspirational speeches is that this year the college is going through a lot of change, most of which is logistical and includes major campus renovations. The new school year is just around the corner and two of the four campuses are in complete upheaval, upgrading facilities and moving instructors to a new campus. One of the big changes is that instructors will now teach in a classroom that is down the hallway from their offices - which means a lot of lugging materials around. A small inconvenience given the incredible new facilties they will be teaching in, but an inconvenience nonetheless.
Students this fall will benefit from larger space and new technology due to renovations at the College’s Henlow Campus, and construction of a new campus on Fultz Boulevard.
Despite the expansion, Winnipeg Technical College remains a small community college that is very much in tune with community and student needs.
I will presenting one of the inspirational speeches tailored to college conferences, The Nerve to Serve... Say Hello to Humor & Goodbye to Burnout! Before my presentation, the President and CEO of WTC, John Bobbette, and other faculty members will give inspirational speeches on the direction the college is heading, intended to reconnect all staff to the college's mission and vision.
I look forward to being a motivational speaker for the Winnipeg Technical College conference; it sounds like a very diverse and committed group of professionals.
Throughout the inspirational speeches we will be interacting with college staff to get their feedback and input on the exciting changes ahead!
