On friday April 6, 2012, I am an inspirational speaker for the Alaska Medical Group Managers Association Conference held in Anchorage Alaska.
This event will host over 300 medical group managers who work in physician offices througout alaska.
The medical group manager basically leads and manages everything that happens in the physicians office from scheduling, hiring, firing, patient care flow and more. These busy professionals deal with physician's sometimes difficult personalities. The physicians usually own the practice but the medical group manager leads and managers the complexities of the day to day work. Issues may arise that require decisions to be made by a diverse group of physicians. The change is led by the medical group managers.
As the closing inspirational speaker for the medical group managers I will presenting one of my motivational talks, Follow Me I'm Right Behind You. We will discuss change in the healthcare industry, how to stay focused on the meaning of your work and how humor helps you stay balanced and in control.
Some of the changes all healthcare professionals, including medical group managers, is the transition to the EMR or electronic medical record. Many healthcare environments are evolving to have patient records captured in electronic format. This means physicians, nurses and administrators must abandon the age old way of documenting patient information on charts and instead enter it electronically. Like any change there is resistance.
The opening inspirational speaker for the medical group managers conference is Donna Hartly, presenting one of her motivational talks, Fire up Your Life.
