On February 10, 2012, I am a healthcare inspirational speaker for the Association of Surgical Technologists Annual Instructor’s Forum in Orlando Florida. The forum attracts an average of 300+ surgical technology educators, the people who train Surgical Technologists - those we depend upon to assist surgeons during surgical procedures.
The profession of surgical technology is always changing and expanding with new technological developments and surgical techniques revolutionizing the operating room. The Instructor's Forum keeps educators abreast of new technologies and best practices in the operating room; they and the students they teach help keep surgery safer for all of us.
Other programs on the agenda include Counseling Students and Disciplinary Action, Financial Aid and Employment Regulation, and Finding & Launching New Clinical Sites. Other great inspirational speakers on the leadership program are Kelly Miller speaking on The 7 Habits of Highly Ineffective Instructors and Dodi Brown and Tammy Webb-Ryan will present on Developing Students' Sense of Ownership.
I am the opening inspirational speaker and presenting on Daring to be Caring... Leading a Spirited Healthcare Team. My goal is to compel the surgical leadership educators to stay focused on the meaning and joy of their work. In my two-hour keynote inspirational speech we will delve into leadership principals like inspiring younger generations, the keys to appreciating and recognizing others, and how to use humor, laughter and levity to decrease stress and renew enthusiasm.
