I am an inspirational speaker for the California Association of Area Agency on Aging ( C4A) Conference on November 15, 2011 in Los Angelas, CA.
The C4A Meeting and Allied Conference is the largest and the only integrated conference for aging and long term care leadership in California.
The theme for the inspirational event is “Strategies for Success – Positioning for the Future”
The conference expects over 300 leadership professionals who are united in providing programs and support that enable older Californians to live independently for as long as possible. The state of california has 33 area agencies on aging. Each year the network provides clients, and their caregivers, with services critical to keep seniors in their homes and communities as long as possible, serving thousands of meals, and delivering home-maker services and personal care.
The mission of the Area Agencies on Aging involves allowing seniors to live in their community with independence and dignity for as long as possible. Communities thrive when Senior citizen are independent and engaged in their community.
Like many industries that rely on government funding, leadership in aging services have taken a funding hit and now agencies and services are stretched trying to provide the best care and outreach for seniors with limited resources.
Record numbers of baby boomers are getting older and require essential community based services. Today people live longer and they want health and vitality into there senior years.
By 2020 California's population over 60 years old will increase to 20% from its current 14%.
I look forward to being an inspirational speaker for the Area Agencies on Aging Conference to celebrate their sucess, laugh and gain perspective on their shared stresses and inspire them to continue being a strong advocate for seniors and persons with disabilities.
