On May 30, I am a speaker for the 2nd annual Upper Island Safety Conference.
Strathcona Regional District is hosting the conference at the Strathcona Gardens Recreation Complex in Campbell River, and the theme of this year's conference is PREVENTION. This conference draws over 250 safety officers and professionals, safety committee members, business owners specializing in safety and anybody responsible for safety at work.
Some other speakers for the safety conference are Maryanne Pope, the author of a Widows Awakening, and Urvi Ramsoondar, Manager of Services for the BC Construction Safety Alliance (BCCSA) for the Construction Safety Network. Over 15 other inspirational speakers will deliver their safety and prevention message for the safety conference.
The Upper Island Safety Conference meets the Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committee Training Requirements under the Worksafe BC Legislation.
Accidents are unexpected - that's what makes them accidental! - so making workplace conduct safer is about prevention. Anticipating hazards, creating safety awareness, understanding health and safety rules, safety equipment use and proper procedures are critical to ensuring health and safety.
Safety is on the radar of most organizations today. Being responsible and proactive about safety practice in your workplace is leadership's number one job. If you need a primer on safe work precautions, attend this safety conference in lovely Campbell River BC, where the beauty of the location is second to none.
I am a humorous speaker for the safety conference. I am speaking on The Nerve to Serve... Say Hello to Humor and Goodbye to Burnout! We will learn how laughter is key to decreasing stress in changing work environments.
