I am a speaker for the Manitoba Long Term Care Conference on May 17, 2011. The theme of the conference is Inspiring All Who Care.
Many long term care professionals work hard every day under lots of pressure. Their work presents great demands physically, emotionally and mentally while compelling them to remaining compassionate and caring at all times.
Healthcare professionals and family members caring for older adults are invited to this premier event. Caring for a loved one and making sure that our elders lead a quality, fulfilling life can sometimes feel like a burden, so the opportunity to connect, bond and relate to others in similar situations can save your sanity.
I look forward to this inspiring event. I will be a speaker for the long term care conference on The Nerve to Serve... Say Hello to Humor and Goodbye to Burnout! We will discover how taking yourself lightly is key to decreasing stress, balancing your perspective and making you more available for continued compassionate care.
The other speakers for the long term care conference will discuss dealing with difficult behaviors, oral health, palliative care, advanced care planning and elder abuse.
The Awards For Excellence Ceremony at the conference will be Hosted by CBC Radio’s Larry Updike.
