April 30, 2010, I will be the closing keynote speaker ( before the AGM) for the 83rd Annual Alberta Funeral Services conference. The conference takes place at the Fairmount Hotel MacDonald.
The conference is unique as they encourages delegates to stay on the Green Option and a tree will be planted in their name. The Green Option involves a paperless check out, declines the daily newspaper, and towel and linen exchange only happens every second day. Thanks to the Carbon Farmer, a tree will be planted and cared for in their name if they chose this option. What an innovative way for a conference to support our environment.
I will be a speaker for the funeral services conference on April 30 on Follow Me I’m Right Behind You! Managing Millennial’s – Understanding and Integrating the Younger Worker. A lively, humourous look at how funeral professionals can work more effectively and productively with younger generations (Generation Y) and their styles, preferences, and work ethics.
Humorous Comedy Speaker, Roman Danylo will also be a speaker, comedian at the funeral services conference. He is a very humorous speaker and comedian. The Canadian College of Funeral Service Graduation Banquet will be on Saturday, April 30 as well.
The funeral services industry appreciates humor with it's power to decrease stress. Funeral services professionals are engaged daily to help provides competent and sympathetic support during the arrangement of funeral rites and the respectful disposition of the body of a loved one. A little bit of levity would be welcome in the profession. As Deanna Schroeder, the executive administrator for the funeral services association suggests one thing funeral professionals don't find funny are funeral jokes. They are not amusing for funeral providers.
