Photo Left... what better inspirational speaker than Santa Clause?
The holidays are the perfect excuse to enjoy some humor in the workplace. Below are some fun, amazingly frugal ways to help in motivating people to lighten up. These activities will enhance interpersonal skills and allow a range of leadership expert skills to shine. You could do any of these fun activities in a management workshop or in an informal holiday event. Some of these games have been culled from Grandmas Profitable Christmas Corner.
While he is not a leadership Guru, I love the fun games that can be used at work and will enhance many of leadership skills like building trust, teamwork and more.
Hershey's Kisses Game
Divide your group into two teams and have two bowls of Hershey's kisses at the other end of the room.
Give each team one set of oversized mittens.
The first person in line runs to the bowl of kisses, and has to unwrap the kiss while wearing the oversized mittens and pop the kiss into their mouth.
They run back, tag the next person in line, and exchange the mittens and the next person runs forward to get a chocolate kiss.
The winning team is the one in which all members have enjoyed a kiss first.
Santa’s Antlers
I saw an inspirational speaker do this at a healtcare seminar, It was fun!
Divide into groups of 4 people
Give each team a pair of pantyhose and 10 Medium Balloons
The team should begin blowing up the balloons and the inflated balloons have to be put into the legs of the pantyhose.
The winner is the first team that creates and wears the antlers and sings Jingle Bells.
Santa’s Beard
Break into two teams. The object of the game is to create Santa’s Beard
Make a big bowl of cotton balls and get a container of Vaseline. Put some Vaseline on the chins of each member of each team
When everyone on a team has a beard, that team wins.
Have a game of Christmas Idol
Set up a small table for the judges
Have teams of two people sing a Christmas carol.
Tell them to have a lot of fun with the song
Judge based on funniest performance, best vocals, etc
Create a Christmas Scavenger Hunt.
Have about 25 items hidden in a room and give each team a “list”
The first team to get the most of the items wins
