I am frequently a motivational speaker for American Heart Association's Go Red for Women Events.
At these events, I have been continually inspired to take care of myself and others with some of the great resources available.
Recently I heard of another wonderful resource from the American Heart Association, called OnlineAHA. This website is dedicated to teaching Emergency Cardiovascular Care, CPR and First Aid.
This online resource offers incredible low cost and free tools that will save your life.
One such resource is the Pocket First Aid and CPR Smartphone App. This downloadable app provides quick, clear CPR instructions from a persons smartphone that can save a life in the event of an emergency.
OnlineAHA also offers online courses with an extensive course catalogue including Cardiovascular and basic alife support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Stroke training.
OnlineAHA provides extensive workplace training including online First Aid and CPR as well as bloodborne pathogens and Pediatric First Aid and CPR. They also provide online instructor training and education.
The format of the online courses involves the AHA's 3 part delivery system:
- Part 1: online cognitive lessons—anytime and anywhere with computer access
- Part 2: hands-on skills practice
- Part 3: hands-on skills testing.
The great thing about these online resources is they are easily accessible at any time so they fit into a working professionals busy lifestyle. Online learning is convenient, flexible and it saves time and money.
I would recommend everyone from healthcare professionals, parents, educators- in fact anybody concerned with their health and wellness, check out OnlineAHA and stay healthy now!
