On April 2, 2014 I am a humorous motivational speaker for the Pennsylvania Association of Directors of Nursing Association( PADONA).
The convention will draw over 450 directors of nursing and administrators to the Hershey Hotel in Harrisburg, PA.
The theme of the event is Today's Challenges, Tomorrow's Victories was chosen to accept the past and embrace the future.
This busy audience spends most of the day running a nursing home. A shift usually starts by meeting with staff and doing rounds. They will review all residents and determine physical, mental and emotional status and implements required nursing intervention. Following this the nursing administrator will monitor and change the resident charts.
The director of nursing is also responsible for maintaining census, resident satisfaction and budgetary guidelines.
Finally a large part of the job is monitoring, leading and working with staff members and there various issues. Attracating and retaining nurses, nursing aides, therapists and more is always challenging in this environment.
Most nursing facilities provide informal inservice education sessions.
I am excited to be a humorous motivational speaker for the Pennsylvania directors of nursing, I will present the motivational speech, Daring to be Caring Leading a Spirited Healthcare Team.
