On February 8 & 9, 2014, I am a humorous motivational speaker for the Alberta Association of Agriculture Societies. Over 400 delegates from across alberta will attend the event.
The theme of the event is, "Pirates of the Ag Societies". This theme reflects the societies commitment to creating new opportunities and creating quality of life.
Most of the delegates are volunteers who help operate over 700 facilities throughout alberta. Collectively over 65, 000 volunteers perform over 640, 000 hours of volunteering mostly in creating and organizing community events in the various facilities they operate.
Most volunteers perform operational and community based activities ( versus policy making). Like most volunteers, the same few dedicated people end up being called on to do all the work. Attracting and recruiting new, younger volunteers is always a concern.
The opening motivational keynote speaker is Alberta Premier Alison Redford.
One of the messages I plan to bring home is the value of community, play, fun and live interaction ( versus online). Agriculture societies goal is to keep rural communities engaged and promote quality of life.
I can't wait to be a Motivational keynote speaker for the Alberta Agriculture societies conference. Volunteers are passionate, committed, vibrant and dedicated to building strong communities.
My motivational speech is I Love my Job, it's the People I Can't Stand and the closing motivational speech, This Would Be Funny, if it Wasn't Happening to Me!
