Productivity Motivational Speaker

Posted by Jody Urquhart on Tue, Jan 29, 2013 @ 12:40 PM

Last week I was a motivational speaker for the Boeing One Team Meeting in Long Beach California. One of the other motivational speakers was Audrey Thomas, a Lean Office Expert.

Audrey's motivational speech, Your Personal Productivity Passport was a real eye opener for me on effectively using the Outlook software. Audrey started her speech suggesting that many companies spend millons of dollars on Outlook and follow up with very little training. Most Outlook users (including me, still using the 2003 version!) use this incredible technology to only 20% of it's capacity.
One of the first techniques suggested by this productivity motivational speaker is to use your right click button in Outlook. By right clicking on many feilds, you have a whole new world of possibilities - some you will use immediately and others you will come back to at a later date.

A Great Teacher's Inspiration Never Fades

After a very long flight, I am standing at the luggage carousel waiting for my luggage to circulate. Still scouring suitcases, forty minutes later, I can feel my anxiety escalate. In my mind I'm building the scenerio... the airline lost my luggage, again.

Hiring a Motivational Speaker: Avoid the Pointless Motivational Speech

Posted by Jody Urquhart on Tue, Jan 08, 2013 @ 01:58 PM

I was a motivational speaker for a financial services conference where I came early and was able to watch the opening keynote speaker. Ten minutes into his motivational speech, I could clearly see that he doesn't have a point and he is skirting the issue. I tuned out, and so did everyone else. This was an notable motivational (adventure, climbing) speaker and we were all prisoners, uncomfortably watching him bomb.
